A Nigerian individual, who goes by the name Young C, has embarked on a daring challenge—to be buried alive in a coffin for a full 24 hours. This unconventional feat was announced on Wednesday through a series of posts on Young C’s Instagram page, affirming that the endeavor was genuine and not a mere stunt.
Young C disclosed his plan to livestream footage from inside the coffin during the night, adding credibility to his endeavor. In a video shared on his Instagram account, he asserted, “I am going to be spending the next 24 hours buried in this casket. Guys, this is real, not fake. And the most amazing part is that I am going to go live by night.”
As the hours passed, Young C provided updates on his situation. After being buried for over 8 hours, he expressed discomfort due to physical strain, particularly excessive sweating. In an evening update, he stated, “Guys, I have been buried alive for over 8 hours now. For those of you who saw my first video, I have been down here. As you can see, my camera is still rolling, and I have my light down there, I am sweating, guys.”
This endeavor draws parallels to a similar challenge undertaken by American YouTube personality MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson). Two years ago, MrBeast raised awareness about deforestation by burying himself alive for 50 hours. More recently, he attempted to break his own record by spending seven consecutive days in a coffin. Equipped with provisions for food, water, and monitoring cameras, MrBeast faced physical and mental challenges, including back pain and emotional distress. Despite the difficulties, he successfully completed the seven-day challenge and was eventually unearthed.
MrBeast cautioned against attempting such stunts, highlighting the potential dangers involved.
