In a tragic incident in Kubwa, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), a woman identified as Zara Tua was fatally stabbed by two men after an argument broke out in a hotel room on Sunday night. The incident, which occurred at Galaxy Hotel in the Byazhin area, reportedly escalated when one of the men used a pair of scissors to stab Zara multiple times.
According to eyewitnesses and local residents, Zara, who was known to be a commercial sex worker, was involved in a dispute with the two men which quickly turned violent. The altercation resulted in Zara being stabbed in seven different places, including her stomach and other parts of her body.
A resident of the area, who preferred to remain anonymous, recounted the incident and mentioned that the police were alerted following the commotion. The authorities promptly arrived at the scene and arrested two suspects in connection with the murder.
Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, confirmed the details of the incident. She stated that the police received a distress call from Galaxy Hotel reporting the altercation involving Zara Tua, Maman Ajiya, and Usman Lawal. The disagreement had turned violent, culminating in Zara being stabbed with scissors.
Upon arrival at the hotel, the police found Maman Ajiya severely beaten by a mob, while Zara and the suspects were rushed to Kubwa General Hospital. Unfortunately, Zara was pronounced dead by the attending medical personnel.
Adeh further disclosed that an investigation into the matter had been initiated to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the incident. The suspects, Maman Ajiya and Usman Lawal, both males of unspecified addresses, remain in police custody pending the conclusion of the investigation.
The tragic event has shocked the community and underscores broader issues related to safety and violence against women.
