A Facebook user named Onoh Chukwuma reportedly took his own life by ingesting an insecticide after losing N2.5 million to betting. On his Facebook wall, he posted a message announcing that it was his last day on earth and expressing gratitude to some individuals. Unfortunately, he had already consumed the insecticide before making the announcement.
In the post, Onoh thanked individuals, stating, “Today is my last day on earth! I’m going to meet my maker. Thank you Chima Anyaso, Ikukuoma Abia, Kelvin Jombo Onumah, Ekwueme Ohafia, and my friends. My spirit is with you all.” Distressed friends rushed him to Madonna Hospital, Umuahia, but despite medical efforts to resuscitate him, Onoh did not survive.
It was reported that Onoh had allegedly lost N2.5 million to betting and couldn’t bear the shame and pressure from those he borrowed money from. Friends expressed heartbreak over the tragic incident, with some recounting the futile attempts by medical professionals to revive him.
One Facebook user questioned the deceased’s decision, revealing that Onoh had N1 million and borrowed N1.5 million to play a bet that failed, leading to his tragic end due to shame from debtors.
Condolences and messages of grief have been posted on Onoh’s Facebook page by friends mourning his untimely demise.
