The Honorable Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, has expressed optimism about Nigeria’s improving safety and readiness for foreign investments and the exploration of its rich heritage. This statement was made during a courtesy visit on Tuesday when he welcomed a delegation from the Anhui Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee in China, led by Vice Chairman Mr. Tao Ming Lun.
Addressing the delegation on behalf of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker Hon. Benjamin Kalu acknowledged the positive diplomatic relationship between China and Nigeria. In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Press Affairs, Udora Orizu, Hon. Kalu highlighted the importance of fostering diplomatic relations for the progress of both nations and the promotion of global peace and prosperity.
Hon. Kalu extended warm compliments from the Speaker and members of the House of Representatives to the distinguished delegation from Anhui, emphasizing the enduring friendship between the two nations. Hon. Kalu further sought collaboration with China on agricultural technology to enhance agriculture and address food insecurity. Stressing the importance of agriculture in the current administration, aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s renewed Hope agenda, he encouraged mutual efforts to address shared challenges and create opportunities for growth and development.
The leader of the Chinese delegation, Mr. Lun, expressed their desire to deepen cooperation, bringing the two countries closer and expanding their collaboration.
