Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to use his influence to secure the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Iwuanyanwu emphasized that Nnamdi Kanu’s case is well known, and many Nigerians, including a court, have called for his release. He urged Tinubu to consider it a Christmas gift to Igbos and other Nigerians committed to a peaceful and secure country. Iwuanyanwu also advocated for a non-kinetic approach to address security concerns in the South East, including amnesty for those expressing various forms of agitation.
