The Ogun State Police Command has revealed that the police officer whose shot accidentally hit Nollywood actor and director Azeez Ijaduade in Iperu Remo will face disciplinary action. The state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, confirmed the incident and expressed relief that the actor was in stable condition. Alamutu explained that the officer would undergo disciplinary procedures for the unfortunate incident.
The incident occurred during the end-of-year party of a company at a hotel in Iperu, where a police officer accidentally discharged a shot from his rifle. The shell of the bullet hit the actor’s neck, and he was rushed to Babcock University Teaching Hospital, where he is currently responding to treatment. The Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed that the officer had been arrested, and investigations were underway.
Alamutu emphasized that the shooting was unfortunate and uncalled for, expressing joy that the victim was in stable condition. He stated that the concerned policeman’s actions were not justified, and he would face disciplinary actions for not displaying professionalism. The officer’s arrest and the ongoing investigation aim to address the incident and ensure accountability for the unintentional shooting.
