Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, has urged Nigerians to be patient, emphasizing that the government’s ability to perform requires experience, pedigree, and time. During the inauguration of projects he facilitated in his Surulere Federal Constituency, Gbajabiamila called on citizens to manage expectations and recognize that achieving results in government takes time.
The projects, inaugurated in Lagos alongside Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, included a state-of-the-art conference center at Lagos State University (LASU), an ultramodern 80-bed General Hospital, the dualized Babs Animashaun Road and Census Bridge, and the Sam Shonibare Community Development Centre. Gbajabiamila highlighted the collaborative efforts between the federal and state governments in achieving these projects.
He expressed pride in the completion of over 250 roads, construction of 15 mini stadia, and significant investments in education and healthcare during his tenure as Speaker of the House of Representatives. The Chief of Staff thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for the collaboration, emphasizing the importance of working together to realize development goals.
Governor Sanwo-Olu praised the Chief of Staff for fruitful collaborations and described the projects as part of the administration’s efforts to advance its THEMES agenda. He expressed gratitude for Gbajabiamila’s support and highlighted the world-class facilities at the upgraded General Hospital. Sanwo-Olu also announced plans to establish a medical university in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and the National Universities Commission. The medical university aims to address the shortage of medical personnel in the state by graduating 1,500 doctors annually, countering the trend of healthcare professionals leaving the country.
