The Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Umar Nadada, has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigative Department in Lafia to initiate an investigation into the attack on a supermarket in One Man Village, near Mararaba, in the Karu Local Government Area of the state. The incident, which occurred around 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday, involved about four armed men who reportedly attacked the supermarket, resulting in the death of four customers.
In a video obtained immediately after the incident, a voice claimed that one of the deceased individuals possessed an identity card belonging to the Central Bank of Nigeria. The Nasarawa police spokesperson, Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident, stating that four people were killed in the attack. The Commissioner of Police has directed the Deputy Commissioner in charge of the State Criminal Investigative Department to investigate the matter.
The armed men allegedly shot sporadically, targeting customers in the Wisdom supermarket at Adehi, Karu local government. The victims were rushed to the hospital, where they were confirmed dead by medical professionals. The investigation will seek to unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack and identify those responsible for the violence.
