Gunmen kidnapped Samuel Ohiri, a former chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, from his residence in Orodo, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State. The incident occurred on a Saturday, and reports indicate that the monarch, who is also the traditional ruler of Orodo, was taken away by the unidentified gunmen.
Samuel Ohiri had previously served as the chairman of the council during the administration of former Governor Rochas Okorocha. The state police command confirmed the kidnapping, and spokesman Henry Okoye assured the public that a search operation had been initiated to locate and rescue the traditional ruler. Okoye stated that intensive investigations were ongoing to ensure the safe release of Eze Ohiri, and efforts were being made to apprehend the kidnappers and bring them to justice. The police assured the public that further information on the situation would be provided as the investigation progresses.
