Tragedy struck at approximately 1 pm when Ugochukwu discreetly entered the restroom, consumed a lethal dose of insecticide unbeknownst to her coworkers. Concerns arose among her colleagues as her incessantly ringing phone on the vacant table prompted a search for her.
A police source verified the unfortunate incident, disclosing that Ugochukwu’s lifeless body was discovered in the restroom, alongside an empty insecticide bottle and a poignant suicide note. In the heartfelt message, she attributed her drastic decision to the challenging economic circumstances, expressing despair over the numerous aspects of her life that seemed to be falling apart.
“Nothing is working in my life. My figures are low. My brain is clogged up. The economy is getting harder. My decisions are wrong. My mind is messed up. The future doesn’t seem bright at all. I see extreme hardship. I can’t bear the pain anymore,” the note read.
In a somber tone, Ugochukwu apologized to her parents and other family members, addressing them individually, “I’m sorry mum, I’m sorry dad, I’m sorry Nene, Okwe, Toto, Nazor, Chuchu, Ifunanya.” The note concluded with a plea to the divine, “Dear Lord, have mercy on me!”
According to the bank manager, Ugochukwu had intentionally isolated herself in the restroom to carry out the tragic act. Her lifeless body was discovered only after the door was forcibly opened, a revelation later confirmed by a medical doctor who examined her. The incident paints a grim picture of the struggles individuals face amid challenging circumstances.
