Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian singer MohBad (Ilerioluwa Aloba), has raised concerns over the circumstances surrounding his son’s death. Aloba claimed that when he arrived at his son’s home, MohBad’s body was already embalmed and placed by the staircase. He called on the police to intensify their investigation to unravel the cause of his son’s death.
Aloba revealed the disturbing scene he encountered, stating, “I went straight upstairs to his room where we used to talk as father and son, I saw no one in that room but a duvet-cloth that was stained with much blood.” He added that after leaving the room, he discovered his son’s lifeless body laid by the staircase, having been cleaned up, dressed, and locally embalmed.
Expressing disappointment in the government authorities, Aloba criticized the lack of immediate action in securing the crime scene and conducting a thorough investigation. He urged the police to probe individuals who were with his son in the last 72 to 48 hours before his death.
MohBad, a former signee of Marlian Music owned by Naira Marley, passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27. His death prompted controversies on social media, leading to the arrest of Naira Marley and other individuals. The Lagos State Police Command initiated a special investigation team to look into the circumstances surrounding MohBad’s death.
Despite the passage of time, the autopsy report is yet to be officially released, and the police spokesperson stated that they have not received the report from the pathologists. The concerns raised by MohBad’s father highlight the need for a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s untimely death.
