The immediate past Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, has disclosed that a friend has offered to contribute N50 million towards the N100 million ransom demanded by bandits for the release of the remaining Mansoor Al-Kadriyar sisters. The girls, along with their father and the daughter of a late relative, were abducted on January 3.
While Al-Kadriyar was released with an order to provide N60 million ransom for the abducted girls, the kidnappers later raised the ransom to N100 million. Tragically, one of the daughters, Nabeeha, was killed and buried on Friday. Pantami, expressing his stance against paying ransom, revealed in a tweet that he spoke with a friend willing to contribute the remaining N50 million towards the ransom.
He further conveyed the friend’s offer to the father of the abducted girls, Mansoor Al-Kadriyar, for direct transfer. Pantami urged others who had contributed to use any additional funds generated for the treatment of the remaining daughters and family members.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, confirmed that the police were handling the matter with details undisclosed for security reasons.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force has committed to rescuing four sisters and their cousin kidnapped from their family home in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory on January 3, 2024. The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, assured that the police had initiated a comprehensive plan of action to rescue the abducted girls and arrest the bandits, emphasizing the commitment to preventing further occurrences and ensuring the victims’ safe return.
