The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has emphasized the military’s commitment to ensuring a secure country amidst rising cases of violent crimes, including banditry, kidnapping, terrorism, and armed robbery. In a statement signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, Abubakar acknowledged the support provided by President Bola Tinubu, who earmarked N3.2 trillion for defense and security in the 2024 Appropriation Bill.
Abubakar urged the troops to sustain their efforts against criminal elements and maintain the momentum of operations to instill confidence in citizens going about their daily activities. He emphasized that the military has the necessary resources to fulfill its constitutional mandates and should deliver on its mandate.
The Air Chief called on all Nigerians to continue supporting the military and offering prayers for fallen heroes. He highlighted the importance of sustained efforts to restore peace and tranquility across the country, acknowledging the dedication and commitment of the fallen heroes in achieving a peaceful past.
Abubakar stressed that sustaining joint air, ground, and maritime strikes against terrorists, insurgents, economic saboteurs, and other non-state actors is the best way to pay tribute to the fallen heroes and ensure the security and well-being of the nation.
