During his first season in charge, Mourinho led Roma to victory in the inaugural Europa Conference League, and in the second season, the team finished as runner-up in the Europa League. Despite these achievements, he was let go, and the club confirmed his departure in a statement on their website. The statement expressed thanks to Mourinho for his passion and efforts but stated that an immediate change was deemed in the best interests of the club.
