President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep concern over the recent surge in kidnappings and bandit attacks, describing the situation as disturbing, ungodly, and sinister. He conveyed his sentiments during a meeting with a delegation from Jam’iyyatu Ansaridden, a respected Islamic movement, at the State House in Abuja.
Tinubu assured that security agencies were swiftly addressing the current challenges, and comprehensive resources, policies, and plans would soon be deployed for the massive education of Nigerian youths. Emphasizing the importance of education as a solution to the nation’s problems, Tinubu stated, “There is no weapon against poverty that is as potent as learning.”
The President highlighted the commitment to change the lives of the Nigerian people, promote peace, stability, and economic prosperity. He stressed the dedication to building lasting peace and comprehensive education for children, involving teachers and educational institutions in the process.
Tinubu urged the promotion of updated knowledge through existing Islamic learning institutions, particularly for the youth in Northern Nigeria, to accelerate development in the region, the nation, and across Africa. He called for special prayers and proper education to address issues like kidnapping and banditry, emphasizing that such acts are contrary to the principles of peace and development.
In response, Sheikh Muhammad Lamine Niass, the leader of Jam’iyyatu Ansaridden, commended President Tinubu for his reform initiatives and affirmed the movement’s commitment to promoting peace and tolerance. He assured that they would continue to pray for the peaceful development of Nigeria.
