Stanley Olajide, a member of the House of Representatives, has reiterated the commitment of the 10th Assembly to pass the State Policing Bill. Hon. Olajide, representing Ibadan North West/South West federal constituency of Oyo State, expressed condolences to the Oyo State Government and families affected by the recent explosion in Ibadan. He emphasized the importance of community policing, stating that it is one of the smartest ways to ensure the safety of the people. He stressed the need for individuals to report suspicious activities promptly to prevent situations like the recent explosion.
Addressing the issue of state policing, Hon. Olajide mentioned that the House of Representatives would reopen discussions on the State Police and Community Police bills. He emphasized the urgency of addressing the matter and stated that it would be a priority when the House reconvenes.
Regarding the Ibadan explosion, Hon. Olajide commended the prompt intervention of Governor Seyi Makinde and all first responders. He acknowledged the horrific nature of the incident and expressed concern for the casualties.
