The So-Safe Corps in Ogun State has successfully apprehended a man who was allegedly causing terror in the Ala community within the Odogbolu Local Government Area of the state. The individual, identified as Daniel Iwalokun, a native of Ilaje in Ondo State, was taken into custody for wielding a fake pistol.
Moruf Yusuf, the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, confirmed the arrest on Monday. According to Yusuf, the suspect had been using a toy gun to intimidate and create unrest among the people of Ala. The So-Safe Corps, through its Ijebu Zonal Operation team, managed to apprehend Iwalokun, who had been operating alone with the fake pistol.
“Preliminary investigations have established that the suspect has been operating all alone with the toy gun,” said Moruf Yusuf. The captured suspect, along with the recovered fake pistol, has been handed over to the Obalende Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation and potential prosecution. This action was taken on the directive of the Corps Commander, Soji Ganzallo.
Moruf also mentioned that the exhibit recovered from the suspect, identified as Adetoun, has been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force Monitoring Unit in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. The intention is to forward it to the State Police Headquarters in Eleweran for additional investigation and potential legal proceedings.
