The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has officially registered oil marketers as its distributors, according to an announcement by the Dangote Group on Tuesday. The group confirmed the registration of three major associations in the Nigerian oil sector, as outlined in a statement.
The registered marketers include members of the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria, Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria, and Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria. The Dangote Group noted that these three associations collectively represent 75 percent of the total market in Nigeria.
In the statement, the Dangote Group mentioned, “Three prominent associations, that constitute 75 per cent of the total market in Nigeria have been registered. The Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, and the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria.”
Additionally, the group stated that it is still considering other marketers who have expressed interest in partnering with the refinery. Although there is confirmation that associations like MOMAN (Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria) and IPMAN (Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria) have registered to be marketers for products from the private refinery across the nation, the Dangote Group has not disclosed specific timelines for when the products will be available in the market or when the production of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) will commence.
