The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has urged auctioneers in the country to uphold probity, fairness, and accountability in their activities related to the disposal of assets and other professional engagements.
Olukoyede delivered this charge during a courtesy visit by the executives of the National Association of Auctioneers (NAA), led by their President, Alhaji Musa Kurra Abubakar, at the Commission’s headquarters on Monday. Speaking through the Commission’s Secretary, Mohammad Hammajoda, Olukoyede emphasized the importance of moral integrity in the auctioneering profession, stating, “The probity, fairness, and accountability you are expected to bring to your job are the core values that drive our work in the Commission. I can, therefore, say that we are together in the war against corruption.”
Acknowledging the positive working relationship between the Commission and the Association, Olukoyede assured the EFCC’s continued commitment to enhancing their collaboration. He expressed appreciation for the members of the Association who have been actively involved in the disposal of assets forfeited to the government, noting their commendable contributions.
The NAA’s President, Abubakar, used the opportunity to congratulate the Chairman and Secretary of the EFCC on their new appointments. He emphasized the longstanding partnership between NAA and the Commission, expressing gratitude for the support given to the Association. Abubakar highlighted the visit as a gesture of solidarity and support for the new leadership of the Commission.
