Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, His Grace, Most Rev. Ignatius Kaigama, recently attended the “Hope and Crises in a Secular Age” conference organized by the Acton Institute in Sintra, Lisbon, Portugal.
The event, which started January 17-20, 2024 brought together 100 Bishops, fostering a sense of episcopal fraternity through Masses, common prayers, shared meals, and stimulating lectures.
Experts presented talks on various topics, including challenges to belief and the restoration of man, the intersection of science, religion, and the climate apocalypse, population and migration in the modern world, and the dynamics of work, love, freedom, and virtue.
The conference also featured Bishop and Acton Staff Panel Discussions.
In addition to the intellectual exchange, participants had the opportunity for a Marian pilgrimage to Fatima, providing moments of prayer and reflection.
The Shepherd in charge of Abuja Archdiocese, Archbishop Kaigama expressed gratitude to the Acton Institute for contributing to the success of the event, which concluded with a blessing for all those involved.
