Vice President Kashim Shettima has lauded Prof Ishaq Oloyede as the first Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to generate over N50 billion for the Federal Government within a year. Representing President Bola Tinubu at a public engagement organized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Shettima made the revelation during a dialogue on “Youth, Religion, and the Fight against Corruption” at the Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.
The event also marked the launch of the Fraud Risk Assessment Project for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies by EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede. Addressing the audience, the Vice President emphasized the significant financial contribution JAMB made under Oloyede’s leadership, stating that prior to his tenure, the organization had never generated more than $1 million for the Federal Government.
Shettima expressed his respect for Prof Ishaq Oloyede, acknowledging the remarkable achievement of JAMB making over ₦50 billion within a single year for the Federal Government under his stewardship. The dialogue witnessed the presence of notable figures, including the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi; former Minister of Power, Babatunde Fashola; the Ọọni of Ifẹ, Ọba Enitan Ogunwusi; the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar; the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria; the Chairperson of the Nigeria Committee of Vice Chancellors, Professor Lilian Salami; and JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede.
Appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2016, Prof Ishaq Oloyede has played a pivotal role in enhancing JAMB’s financial contributions to the Federal Government during his tenure as the Registrar and Chief Executive of the organization.
