The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, has urged Nigerians to be patient with the economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Malagi stated that President Tinubu has only been in power for seven months, and it would take time to see the benefits of the long-term strategy.
During an interview on Channels TV Sunrise Daily, Malagi emphasized that the president’s objective is clear: to lead Nigeria to “the desired prosperity.” He acknowledged that implementing a long-term plan requires time to put structures in place, and while there may be shocks and occasional dislocations, the vision of the president remains focused on achieving national prosperity.
Malagi encouraged Nigerians to exercise patience despite the challenges, stating, “The results are not seen yet. We ask Nigerians to be a little more patient. I know it’s difficult, especially when people are finding it hard to purchase food items as a result of these policies, but the government is doing a lot to address them.”
He further outlined President Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria, emphasizing the goals of creating a country that values merit, is safe, secure, and egalitarian. Malagi acknowledged the difficulties faced by the government but emphasized that the groundwork laid in the first seven months is crucial for the nation’s long-term development.
