President Bola Tinubu has expressed his administration’s commitment to achieving self-sufficiency in food production and transforming Nigeria into a net exporter of agricultural products through aggressive mechanization. Speaking to a delegation from the Global Tijaniyya Movement led by Khalifa Muhammad Mahe Niass at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday, Tinubu outlined plans to enhance agricultural productivity.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu emphasized the significance of spiritual endeavors in nation-building and pledged support for religious activities. The President stated, “Nigeria will become a net exporter of food. We are bringing thousands of tractors. Food production will be greatly expanded through aggressive mechanization. We must be productive as a people.”
Tinubu further detailed initiatives to boost agricultural output, including expanding farmlands, providing low-interest loans to farmers, and investing in irrigation infrastructure. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between political and spiritual leaders to advance national interests and foster unity.
Addressing healthcare, Tinubu expressed dedication to equipping hospitals with modern equipment, providing training for healthcare professionals, and ensuring social welfare, including comprehensive health insurance coverage for every citizen.
The President thanked the Global Tijaniyya Movement for their support and prayers, emphasizing the collective effort required to build a better Nigeria. Khalifa of Tijaniyya, Sheikh Mahe Niass, commended Tinubu’s commitment to Nigeria’s peace, progress, and stability, expressing confidence in the President’s leadership. The delegation offered prayers for the nation’s progress, unity, prosperity, and for President Tinubu’s wisdom, strength, and success during their visit.
