The Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) has decided to suspend its industrial action following a meeting with the Federal Government on Monday. The decision to suspend operations came on Monday as NARTO members had initiated a strike, expressing concerns about the exorbitant cost of diesel needed to fuel their trucks for transporting petroleum products across the country.
The association has consistently raised issues regarding the high diesel prices, which, as reported last Thursday by oil marketers, ranged between N1,250 to N1,400 per liter depending on the location of purchase. The suspension of the industrial action suggests that there may have been some progress or assurances from the government in addressing the concerns raised by NARTO.
