The Katsina State Police Command expressed satisfaction on Sunday with the positive response it received from residents after issuing a special bulletin seeking information on two bandit kingpins, Modi Modi and Jan Kare. ASP Abubakar Aliyu, the command’s spokesman, stated that credible information had been coming in since the bulletin was made public on Saturday. He emphasized that the command is now carefully analyzing the received information to identify leads that could lead to the apprehension of the bandit leaders.
Aliyu appreciated the public’s cooperation and urged them to continue providing information not only on the two specified kingpins but also on criminals across the state, contributing to efforts to eliminate criminal elements in the region.
Additionally, the spokesman disclosed that normalcy had been restored to the Wurna community, where residents had blocked the Katsina/Dutsinma highway on Friday in protest against frequent bandit attacks in their area.

The announcement came in response to a surge in bandit attacks in Katsina State, prompting residents of Wurna to block a major highway in protest against the insecurity in their community.
