In Kano State, operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have apprehended one Muhammad Munzali from Kaura Gidan Damo, Shanono Local Government Area. These NSCDC personnel, who are part of the Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Department in the state, made the arrest.
The confirmation of the suspect’s arrest came through a statement by the NSCDC’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi. The incident occurred around 10 pm on Wednesday, with vigilant NSCDC officers intercepting Munzali as he attempted to sneak into the female hostel of Skyline University Nigeria, located along Sardauna Crescent, Nassarawa GRA, Kano State.
According to Abdullahi, Munzali was disguised in women’s clothing and was found in possession of local charms. Investigations are currently ongoing to determine the motive behind his intrusion into the private university’s women’s hostel.
Mohammed Falala, the NSCDC Kano Command’s State Commandant, recently emphasized the importance of heightened vigilance during a strategic meeting with management. He instructed officers and men of the command to increase surveillance in and around public and private educational institutions in the state to protect them from criminal activities.
This incident echoes a similar event in 2021 when an unidentified individual disguised as a female and infiltrated the female hostel of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. On that occasion, students apprehended and exposed the intruder.
