Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, extended his warm congratulations to His Royal Highness, Muhammad Sanusi II, on his reinstatement as the 14th Emir of Kano. In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Nelson Chukwudi, on Thursday, Fubara expressed his joy upon learning of the reinstatement of the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Khalifa Sanusi II.
Fubara highlighted the significance of Sanusi’s visit to Rivers State, where he had been actively supporting the government’s efforts to revitalize the state’s economy. He emphasized that Sanusi’s return to the throne, orchestrated by the Kano State Government, underscores the belief that his dethronement on March 9, 2020, did not align with the desires of the people of Kano State.
The Governor denounced Sanusi’s removal as an unjust act that disregarded the support and trust of millions who revered his reign. He commended the Kano State Government for heeding the calls of the people and rectifying past grievances, urging the citizens to rally behind the Emir in his quest to lead effectively.
Fubara also called upon Emir Muhammad Sanusi II, as the spiritual leader of the Tijanniyah Sufi order of Nigeria, to guide the over 50 million adherents of the Sufi order with compassion, wisdom, and bravery, aiming to foster lasting peace, justice, and fairness in Kano.
In conclusion, the Governor extended his best wishes to the 14th Emir of Kano, expressing hopes for a successful and prosperous reign that would benefit the people of the state.
