The Ogun State Police Command is actively searching for a tenant named Mr. Emmanuel, residing in Arigbabu village, Sotubo, Sagamu Local Government Area, following an unfortunate incident where his landlord, Benjamin Apeh, collapsed and died during an argument with him over unpaid house rent.
According to Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, the incident was reported as a suspected murder case by Apeh’s daughter, Miss Precious Apeh, on Monday at 5:00 p.m. She revealed that the argument between her father and the tenant occurred at around 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, during which the tenant threatened her father.
Precious informed the police that she heard her father arguing with the tenant outside their house at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Sunday. During the altercation, Apeh collapsed and was immediately rushed to the NNPC Hospital in Mosimi. Unfortunately, he was later pronounced dead by the attending doctor.
The suspect, Mr. Emmanuel, fled the scene after the incident, but the police are actively pursuing him to bring him to justice. Detectives, led by SP Temitope Fapohunda, visited the scene of the incident, gathered evidence, and commenced an investigation into the case.
Odutola further stated that the deceased’s body has been deposited at the morgue of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu for further examination. The police assured the public that updates on the case would be provided as the investigation progresses.
