First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident in Plateau State where a school building collapsed, resulting in fatalities and injuries. The heartbreaking event occurred at Saint Academy in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, on Friday, claiming the lives of several school children and leaving others trapped beneath the rubble.
In a statement issued on Saturday by her spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi, Mrs. Tinubu extended her condolences to Governor Caleb Muftwang of Plateau State, the bereaved families, and the entire community. The statement read, “It is indeed saddening to hear about the school building collapse in Jos, which claimed the lives of innocent children and their teachers.”
“My heartfelt condolences go to Governor Caleb Muftwang, the bereaved families, and the people of Plateau State,” Mrs. Tinubu continued. She prayed for God’s comfort upon the families of the victims and for strength to endure this devastating loss.
“It is disheartening to lose these children who had promising futures ahead of them. Words cannot adequately console you, but I pray that God grants you comfort and strength during this difficult time,” the statement concluded. “May the souls of these precious ones rest in perfect peace. Amen.”
