The Federal Government has announced the dispatch of 20 trucks loaded with rice to each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, as part of efforts to alleviate the economic challenges facing Nigerians. Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, made this known to State House correspondents following a Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja on Monday.
According to Idris, each state has received 20 trucks carrying 1,200 bags of 25kg rice each, intended for distribution among the most vulnerable individuals and families. This initiative marks the first phase of the federal government’s support to all states, with the expectation that state governments will swiftly distribute the rice to mitigate the current hardships being experienced nationwide.
Further details will be provided in due course.
