Mason Greenwood, the former Manchester United player, has made a significant career move by officially signing with Olympique Marseille after departing Old Trafford. Renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on Thursday through his official channels, announcing, “Official, confirmed. Mason Greenwood signs as new Olympique Marseille number 10.”
Romano disclosed that the deal involves a €26 million fixed fee with an additional €5 million in potential add-ons. Additionally, Manchester United retains a 50% sell-on clause as part of the transfer agreement.
The decision was influenced significantly by Marseille’s manager Roberto De Zerbi, who reportedly made persistent efforts to persuade Greenwood. According to Romano, De Zerbi personally contacted Greenwood almost daily to discuss the move.
Further details on Greenwood’s transition to Marseille are expected to follow.
