Protesters have declared that the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria demonstrations will persist unless President Bola Tinubu addresses their demands. They urged the president to take immediate action, promising to call off the protests if their conditions are met.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Damilare Adenola, the Director of Mobilisation for the Take It Back Movement, criticized the ongoing oppression under the president’s leadership, describing it as intolerable.
“The various court orders restricting protesters to specific locations are an aberration,” Adenola stated. “Our presence here today is an announcement that we have been oppressed for too long. We are saying to the president that unless President Bola Tinubu accedes to our demands, we will remain on the streets. We want to see the president address these issues directly.”
Ayoola Babalola, another leader of the Take It Back Movement, called the heavy security presence around the Moshood Abiola Stadium an embarrassment to the nation. He assured that the protesters would not be intimidated by the show of force.
