The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano has arrested a man accused of running a job scam operation, defrauding victims of significant sums of money with false promises of employment in state government ministries.
In a statement released on Wednesday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, the State Commandant confirmed the arrest of 32-year-old Mu’azu Mohammed Ibrahim. The suspect, a resident of Sagagi Quarters in Kano Municipal LGA, was apprehended after weeks of meticulous tracking.
“The suspect, Mu’azu Mohammed Ibrahim, was arrested following complaints from several individuals, primarily women, who were deceived into paying over N1.2 million in total,” Abdullahi stated.
Ibrahim allegedly posed as a high-ranking government official, promising his victims jobs in various government ministries, departments, and agencies—a promise that turned out to be fraudulent.
The NSCDC has concluded its investigation, and the suspect is set to be charged in court by the corps’ legal unit.
