The Federal Government has introduced a new online portal for Nigerians interested in converting their vehicles from petrol (Premium Motor Spirit) to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). The initiative, announced in a statement by the National Orientation Agency (NOA) on Wednesday, is aimed at making the transition to CNG more affordable and accessible.
Titled “Payment Plan to Make it Easier to Switch to CNG,” the statement outlines flexible payment options for vehicle owners. Nigerians can apply for the conversion on the dedicated portal and spread the cost through monthly installments. The process is designed to ensure a smooth transition, with support provided to applicants at every stage.
“Switching to Compressed Natural Gas is now more accessible than ever,” the statement emphasized. “With flexible payment plans tailored to fit your budget, transitioning from petrol to CNG has never been smoother or more affordable. The payment options allow you to convert your vehicle now and pay later through affordable monthly installments at competitive rates.”
The statement also highlighted the advantages of using CNG, including cost savings, a lower environmental impact, enhanced engine life, and proven safety and reliability.
The NOA encouraged those interested in converting their vehicles to visit the website gocng.ng to begin the application process.
