The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates (Second Series) 2024 will commence on Friday, October 25 and run through Friday, December 20, 2024.
In a statement released on Tuesday, WAEC explained that the examination would follow a hybrid format. This means that the multiple-choice questions will be delivered on-screen, with candidates responding directly on-screen. However, for essay and practical questions, while they will also be shown on-screen, candidates will write their answers in the provided answer booklets.
WAEC also offers a Paper and Pen option for candidates who prefer to complete the entire exam on paper.
The council has extended the registration deadline for the exam to Tuesday, October 29, 2024, and candidates can still register up to 24 hours before their selected paper as walk-in candidates. The final timetable for the exam is available for download on the WAEC Nigeria website.
WAEC encouraged candidates to utilize the learning resources it offers, including signing up on the WAEC e-Study platform, purchasing WAEC Past Questions and Answers books, and interacting with peers through the WAECKonnect platform.
The council wished all candidates success in the upcoming exams and emphasized its commitment to using technological innovations to improve the examination process.
