The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has launched Phase 7 of its Constituency and Executive Project Tracking Exercise, targeting projects worth ₦610 billion across 22 states.
In a statement on Tuesday, ICPC spokesperson Demola Bakare revealed that 1,500 projects spanning various sectors, including education, health, agriculture, water resources, and power, will be monitored. The initiative aims to ensure the proper utilization of funds and prevent project abandonment.
The tracking exercise, which started on November 18, 2024, will cover projects in states such as Kwara, Lagos, Kaduna, Rivers, Imo, and the Federal Capital Territory, among others. Agencies involved include the North-East Development Commission, Niger Delta Development Commission, and Universal Basic Education Commission, among others.
Bakare emphasized that the program seeks to enhance due process, ensure value for money, and enforce compliance with contract specifications. In its previous phase, the ICPC tracked 1,900 projects worth ₦500 billion across 24 states.
This initiative reinforces the commission’s commitment to curbing corruption and promoting transparency in public projects.
