Seni Saraki, son of former Nigerian Senate President Bukola Saraki, has secured his first Grammy win at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
A graduate of the London School of Economics, Seni co-founded The NATIVE in 2016, a platform dedicated to promoting African youth culture. His influence in the music industry extends beyond journalism, having played a key role in curating the Nigerian segment of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack in 2023.
This year, he was instrumental in the production of Bob Marley: One Love—Music Inspired by the Film, which won Best Reggae Album. The 17-track collection features fresh interpretations of Bob Marley’s classics by artists like Wizkid, Daniel Caesar, Kacey Musgraves, Jessie Reyez, and Bloody Civilian.
In a post-award interview, Seni expressed his excitement, saying, “It’s crazy. I helped bring some of the artists together, and they’re honestly incredible. Bob Marley’s legacy is iconic, and to be part of this project is an honor.”
His father, Bukola Saraki, also celebrated the achievement in a heartfelt social media post.
Nigeria’s influence at the Grammys continues to grow, with singer Tems also winning Best African Music Performance for Love Me JeJe. These victories further cement Nigeria’s global musical dominance.
