Air Peace has condemned Nigerian politician, Senator Adam Oshiomhole’s unruly conduct after he missed his flight and disrupted airport operations at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1 (Zulu Hall) Lagos.
The airline revealed that the incident occurred early Wednesday, June 11, 2025, when the former Edo State Governor arrived late for a scheduled flight.
According to a statement from Air Peace management, Oshiomhole arrived at 6:10 am for Flight P47120, which was set to depart at 6:30 am for Abuja. In line with the airline’s strict on-time departure policy, the boarding process had already closed, and the flight departed as scheduled. The airline emphasised that this protocol applies equally to all passengers.
Upon learning that he had missed his flight, Adams Oshiomhole reacted aggressively, physically assaulting an Air Peace staff member. Eyewitnesses and circulating video footage showed him climbing onto the airline’s check-in counter, where staff and other passengers attempted to calm him down.
He later took the disruption further by moving to the entrance gate of the terminal. There, he sat down and effectively barricaded access, preventing other travelers from entering the terminal. The disruption halted ongoing check-ins and delayed operations for several scheduled flights, affecting a large number of passengers.
Furthermore, it is key to note that the Zulu terminal is not a single user facility as it is shared by other airlines notably, Overland, green Africa and some Arik Air flights.
In response to the commotion, Air Peace swiftly activated an operational contingency plan. The airline redirected affected passengers to an alternative terminal, allowing them to board their flights and minimize inconvenience. This contingency ensured continued operations despite the unexpected disturbance.
Air Peace expressed disappointment at the incident, particularly due to the high-profile nature of the individual involved. “We are deeply saddened that such a high-profile figure displayed conduct so unbecoming and disruptive to fellow passengers and our personnel,” the statement read.
The airline reaffirmed its commitment to safe and timely service delivery, stating that its staff will continue to enforce safety procedures and uphold aviation standards. Air Peace reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on violence, warning that no one is above the law or airline protocols.
“We urge all guests to remain civil and cooperative at all times,” the airline said, emphasizing that aviation timelines are precise and must be respected for safety and efficiency.
The airline concluded by stating it will continue to uphold its core values of discipline, integrity, and respect for due process. Adam Oshiomole’s Unruly conduct, or anyone else, will never be tolerated in its operations.
