The Dangote Group, Niger Foods and Africa Rice are working together to increase rice production in Nigeria.
Rice remains the most staple food in the country
The Chairman, Niger Foods, Engr, Sammy Adigun, who dropped the hint in an exclusive interview with our correspondent in Osogbo yesterday opined that this decision-making process would propel over 10 Million tons of rice per year from Niger Food only.
Adigun emphasised that the move would help in creating over 500,000 new jobs on 500,000 hectares of land for Nigerians
He further said that details strategy is already being worked out for healthy production of abundance rice for Nigerians.
Adigun explained that the delegation from Dangote include Aliko Dangote, Thabo Manneh and Dan Kunle while the delegation from Niger Food are Sammy Adigun, Bashir Tanko and Pieter Merve.
He said that of Africa Rice include Dr Baboucarr Manneh (DG), Dr Samuel Bruce-Oliver, Dr Marcel Nwalozie, Dr Sali Ndindeng , Mr. Aly Adam’s Diomande, Dr Thomas AWIO , Dr Francis Nwilene and Hon. Munir Babba Danagundi.
He said the delegations are already perfecting the strategy towards attaining rice sufficiency in Nigeria.
