The Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, has declared a firm commitment to maintaining a corruption-free environment within the Commission during his tenure. He made this pledge on Monday while hosting a delegation from the Civil Society Legislative Centre (CISLAC) during their courtesy visit to the ICPC headquarters.
Chairman Aliyu affirmed that ICPC, under his leadership, will adhere to the law and national best practices to effectively combat corruption in Nigeria. Emphasizing the Commission’s determination to promote ethical justice and maintain a responsible and efficient organization, he stated, “We will continue to sustain that reputation and integrity which ICPC is known for, and we are not going to tolerate any corruption within the Commission. Whatever we are going to do, we will ensure that we do it logically.”
Aliyu acknowledged the crucial role of civil society organizations like CISLAC in holding agencies such as ICPC accountable through demands for transparency and accountability. He assured continued collaboration with CSOs through various initiatives, including the Constituency and Executive Projects Tracking Initiatives (CEPTI) and System Studies and Review.
The Executive Director of CISLAC, Mr. Auwal Musa Rafsanjani, expressed the purpose of the visit as reinforcing the partnership between CISLAC and ICPC. He affirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting ICPC’s efforts in combating corruption and reducing its impact on Nigeria. Rafsanjani pledged ongoing collaboration to ensure the success of ICPC’s initiatives.
