A 26-year-old woman, Omorogbe Soni, has been brought before the Lagos State Police Command on charges of assault after a video captured her assaulting a policewoman in Ajah on February 21, 2024. The incident unfolded during a heated argument between Soni and the policewoman, resulting in Soni pushing her and causing her to fall.
In a statement released by the spokesperson of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, via his X account on Tuesday, it was revealed that Soni faced arraignment at the Etiosa Magistrates’ Court in Ajah on February 22, 2024. Following the arraignment, she has been remanded in the Kirikiri Female Correctional Centre until the next court hearing scheduled for March 27, 2024.
The statement emphasized the severity of the assault, stating, “The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned one Omorogbe Jennifer Soni ‘f’ aged 26 for serious assault after she was caught on camera assaulting a police officer in Ajah on February 21, 2024.”
