Portuguese manager Jose Peseiro has officially parted ways with his role as the manager of the Super Eagles, following the expiration of his contract on Thursday. Peseiro, who guided the Eagles to a commendable second-place finish at the 2023 African Cup of Nations, expressed his contentment in coaching the West African nation.
In a statement released on Friday, Peseiro reflected on the pride and honor he felt during the 22 months of his dedicated tenure. He acknowledged the immense dedication, sacrifice, emotion, and enthusiasm that characterized his time with the team. Peseiro extended his gratitude to key figures such as Sir Amaju Pinnick, President Ibrahim Gusau, General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi, Secretary Dayo Enebi, and the entire NFF staff. He particularly expressed appreciation for the players, with whom leading had been a great pleasure.
