The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has reported the arrest of 15 suspects in connection with the vandalism of a warehouse owned by the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) in Abuja. The warehouse, located in the Tasha area of Abuja, was subjected to an attack resulting in vandalism and looting.
According to the FCT Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, among the 15 suspects arrested, two were security guards employed by the warehouse management. The police recovered 26 bags of maize, five motorcycles, and vandalized aluminum roofing sheets from the suspects.
Adeh stated that normalcy has been restored to the area, and the situation is under control. The incident occurred against the backdrop of economic hardship, and the Agricultural and Rural Development Secretariat of the FCTA confirmed the looting of its warehouse in Dei-Dei. The warehouse was reportedly emptied, with the roof and windows removed by the residents. The ARD Secretariat plans to provide more information on the incident.
