The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has made a plea to the Federal High Court, requesting to be transferred to Kuje prison. Kanu alleged that the Department of State Services (DSS) lacks adequate medical facilities to address his health concerns, claiming there is a concerted effort to endanger his life while in DSS custody.
Expressing his grievances, Kanu stated, “People who come to see me are not allowed. The DSS lacks medical facilities. I am suffering from congestive heart failure, and they are merely providing temporary fixes. My foot is swollen, and despite requesting surgery, they have refused.” He further asserted that there seems to be a deliberate plan for him to perish while in detention, emphasizing his desire to be moved to Kuje prison.
In a related development, the DSS has issued warnings regarding heightened security threats during the festive season, emphasizing the need for vigilance and proactive measures to safeguard public safety.
