The Bauchi State Government, under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed, is taking proactive measures to address challenges in the education sector, with a focus on tackling the issue of out-of-school children and enhancing teaching capacity. Governor Bala Mohammed shared this plan during a two-day Education Summit held at Hajj Camp Bauchi.
The Governor outlined several challenges in the education sector, including infrastructure decay, insufficient teacher training, and a growing number of out-of-school children in the state. To tackle these issues, stakeholders within and outside the state gathered for the summit, which had the theme “Improving Access to Quality Education.”
The primary goal of the summit is to develop a roadmap for addressing the identified challenges in the state’s education system. Governor Bala emphasized that the event provides an opportunity for participants to brainstorm and find solutions, particularly in building the capacity of teachers at the basic education level. The summit is also designed to facilitate policy formulation and mobilize resources by engaging relevant stakeholders.
Governor Bala Mohammed highlighted his administration’s commitment to addressing these challenges. Initiatives include the construction of over 5,000 classrooms, the approval for the employment of 3,000 teachers, and an increase in budgetary provisions for the education sector. The government aims to provide equitable access to education, ensuring a brighter future for the younger generation in Bauchi State.
