Twenty-five students from Ajayi Crowther University in Oyo State faced charges in connection to the tragic death of fellow student Alex Timileyin, who was fatally beaten for allegedly stealing a mobile phone. Aged between 18 and 34, they appeared before the Chief Magistrate Court and were remanded in prison until July 8 for trial. ‘Lord Of Warri’, an activist from Delta State, disclosed this development on X.com. Timileyin was assaulted inside Shepherd Inn hostel on campus, enduring a prolonged attack from Friday evening until Saturday morning. The activist, a relative of the deceased, had petitioned Governor Seyi Makinde for justice.
In an update on X, ‘Lord Of Warri’ commended the Oyo State Government and Police Command for their efforts in pursuing justice. The suspects, listed by name and age, now await trial.
