Troops from Operation Whirl Punch and Operation Forest Sanity II have reported the successful elimination of two bandits during clearance operations in the Rijana vicinity of Kachia Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
Samuel Aruwan, the State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, revealed in a statement on Monday that during a clearance operation, the troops engaged in a gun battle with bandits in Rijana, resulting in the death of two assailants, while several others fled with gunshot wounds.
Among the items recovered from the encounter were three AK-47 rifles, two motorcycles, two AK-47 magazines, 19 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, two mobile phones, and two MP3 players.
Governor Uba Sani expressed his satisfaction with the troops’ bravery and lauded the leadership of Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. TA Lagbaja, for their unwavering commitment in ongoing operations.
Aruwan added, “The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, expressed satisfaction at the report and congratulated the troops for another sterling outing. The Governor praised the leadership of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General TA Lagbaja, and the unflinching morale of the troops, in the ongoing operations.”

In another engagement, troops from Operation Whirl Punch encountered and neutralized five bandits in the Dantarau area of Kajuru Local Government Area during a fighting patrol in the Kachia-Kajuru general area. Samuel Aruwan disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
