Four suspects have been apprehended by Nigeria Police operatives in connection with the tragic killing of Brig. Gen. Harold Udokwere, the national chairman of Retired Members of the Nigerian Armed Forces. The incident occurred when a three-man armed robbery gang attacked and fatally injured Udokwere at his residence in Kubusa, Federal Capital Territory, on Saturday.
Following the heinous act, the Commissioner of Police for the FCT, Bennett Igweh, immediately launched an investigation into the general’s death. According to information obtained from a police report, the suspects were arrested at various locations within the Apo area of FCT by officers from the Utako division.
The arrested individuals were identified as Ibrahim Rabiu, Nafiu Jamil, Aliyu Abdullahi, and Mohammed Nuhu. They were apprehended at Kabusa and Pigbakasa in Apo, Abuja. The police document states, “They are Ibrahim Rabiu, 33 years old from Dala LGA Kano state, residing at Rasha Apo Roundabout; Nafiu Jamil, 33 years old from Tofa LGA Kano, residing at Apo Pantekar; Aliyu Abdullahi, 47 years old from Shinkafi LGA Zamfara state, residing at Apo Roundabout Abuja; and Mohammed Nuhu, 28 years old from Kumbotso LGA Kano state, residing at Apo primary school.”
The document further revealed that the knife allegedly used in the fatal stabbing was recovered from the suspects. Efforts to reach the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, for comments on the matter were unsuccessful as of the time of reporting.
