Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), the operators of Murtala Mohammed Airport Lagos Terminal Two (MMA2), have announced their intention to acquire Nigeria’s first airport digital cold storage system designed for preserving perishable cargo.
Remi Jibodu, Head of Aeronautical and Cargo Services at BASL, revealed that the new storage facility aims to address the increasing demand for preserving perishable cargo passing through Nigerian airports. He emphasized the challenges faced by airlines in carrying all perishable cargoes due to limited belly cargo space on full flights.
Jibodu highlighted the significance of the digital cold storage system for businesses looking to expand across Nigeria but are deterred by the lack of adequate storage facilities. He assured that BASL’s initiative would provide a solution to these challenges, enabling seamless cargo operations and boosting revenue opportunities for MMA2.
