Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly considering Ademola Lookman as a replacement for Vinicius Junior, with the club eyeing the Nigerian forward to bolster their attack. Lookman, currently with Atalanta, has caught the attention of top European clubs thanks to his remarkable form since joining from RB Leipzig in 2022 for €9.35 million. Over 90 appearances, Lookman has scored 39 goals and provided 23 assists, making him one of Serie A’s standout players.
Real Madrid’s interest in Lookman follows news of a potential record-breaking €300 million bid for Vinicius from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal, which could make the Brazilian the most expensive player in history. Al-Hilal are reportedly interested in Vinicius as a marquee signing to potentially replace Neymar, who may depart at the season’s end.
Lookman, valued at €60 million, had previously been close to a move to Paris Saint-Germain, having reached a personal agreement with the French club in August. However, Atalanta managed to retain the winger through the summer. Lookman’s impressive 2022–23 season, featuring 17 goals and 10 assists over 45 matches, included a memorable hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, which secured the trophy for Atalanta.
